Joseph, I would never give up my seat to sit next to a crying baby. And I have never seen anyone do so. Unless, of course you have a better seat to offer for the exchange. So I suggest you buy a business class seat and offer it to a coach flier if the occasion arises. It would be a small price to pay to avoid a lav if that is your view.
