As is the annual minhag since the expulsion of the Jewish communities from Gaza, the Gush Katif Museum and the families hold a memorial for the kevarim that were uprooted in the Disengagement Plan. The event will take place on Thursday, 25 Menachem Av 5773 in the Kedoshei Gush Katif section in Har HaZeisim. The memorial will being at 16:00 in that section, located near the Seven Arches Hotel.

Some of the notables expected to take part include former Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, MK (Bayit Yehudi) Zevulun Kalfa, MK (Bayit Yehudi) Orit Struk, Chief IDF Rav Brigadier-General Rafi Peretz, Rav Elisha Vishlitzky, Rav Elnakave, Eliezer Orbach (head of Gush Katif residents’ vaad) and of course, former residents of that area.
