An elderly man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle in Flatbush, Wednesday morning.
The NYPD tells YWN that the 70-year-old man on his bike was hit around 10:15 a.m. near the corner of Ocean Parkway and Avenue P, in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.
Hatzolah rushed the man to Maimonides Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition with a serious head injury.
The man was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The driver remained on the scene and there are no arrests were made, police said.

ever since DOT traffic calming the area has gotten much worse to drive with back ups of 4 lights to go 1 block as the green light now is only 15 seconds. thanks de blasio

Gee, no helmet, suffered head injury. Even if the accident was 100% not his fault, must wear helmet to minimize serious head trauma
nbatorah, why do you wonder if the victim had the right of way and not the driver? Do drivers follow the traffic rules? I’m curious why your bias automatically goes against the victim.
@menachemgolds, not the reason he got hit, but might very well be the reason that he is in the hospital in critical condition as opposed to at home with a headache.
