According to the Magen David Adom report pertaining to the 2019 swim season, 46 persons R”L died as a result of drowning during the season, which began on April 12, 2019 and ended on October 27, 2019. MDA adds that 228 people were pulled from the sea, pools, and springs during the swim season, of which 46 R”L died, 11 were in critical condition following resuscitation, 7 in serious condition, 22 moderate and 142 light. The number of fatalities is lower than in the 2018 season.
111 calls were in the Mediterranean, 28 the Dead Sea beaches, 9 the Kinneret, 8 the Dead Sea, 27 in public pools, 42 in private pools, 2 in Nachal Yarkon and one in Nachal Dan.
This year, there were fewer calls for drowning victims as compared to the 2018 swim season, when there were 257 calls and 72 fatalities.

• 29% of water rescue victims were 10 and younger
• 21% 11-20-years-old
• 13% 21-30
• 10% 31-40
• 9% 41-50
• 3% 51-60
• 8% 61-70
• 4% 71-80
• 3% 81 and older
