A large-scale search was underway Sunday for a 10-year-old autistic boy, who wandered away from his father in Kiryas Joel.
Village Public Safety Director Moses Witriol said Simon Zorger was outside his family home on Lizensk Boulevard with his father watching him. The boy wandered off without being noticed.
State troopers, a State Police K-9 unit, village public safety officials as well as volunteer residents including students attending the yeshiva, are searching the nearby woods.
Anyone who may has seen the boy is asked to call the State Police at the Monroe Barracks at 845-782-8311 or the Kiryas Joel Public Safety Office at 845-782-5577.
