A number of Beit Shemesh youths were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of damaging parked cars, which they allegedly kicked. They are also alleged to have threatened three persons with stones and attacked police.
According to a Jerusalem police district spokesman, the three were apprehended in a commercial area in the city after receiving complaints from three residents, who told police the youths damaged their parked vehicles and threatened another man with a stone, which one youth held in his hand.
The youths were belligerent towards police, reporting they appeared to be under the influence of alcohol upon their arrival on the scene. They were ordered held over and were scheduled to reappear before the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Sunday, at which time police asked to further extend their detention as the investigation continues.

So anytime someone is arrested for Public intoxication or vandalism in the entire country of Israel, their will be a post on YWN in regards?!
medic, only if they are from Chareidi communities. But even so, there is a real problem here with OTD youth… & I believe a lot of them wouldn’t engage in this kind of behavior or indeed, be OTD, if the community (including parents of these kids!) woke up to reality. NOT ALL KIDS CAN SIT & LEARN! Not all kids are clones of their parents: some actually are capable of independent thought and have questions. But instead of being listened to and guided they are ostracized. Some are even thrown onto the streets. We can’t force square pegs into round holes, so instead of finding square holes for them, RBS sands them down until they break. And then frustration & resignation set in & they become what they are told they are: troublemakers, oisvarfen etc. It breaks my heart to see how decent kids who don’t fit the mold are almost forced into reckless behavior because they are already labeled.
Mesira!
