Hi there. I need to go on a biologic & am trying to decide btwn Humira & Remicade. Wondering how others made their decisions? If you’ve been on both, is there one you liked better? Different side effects? One more effective? All insight welcome!

If your or a loved one are experiencing any form of psoriasis, diet may be the answer. Try avoiding gluten, dairy and nightshades for a few weeks and see if symptoms improve. It may be difficult at first but it is doable, and hopefully when things get better you can try to reintroduce one food at a time.
Despite what doctors may tell you (that there are no studies proving that avoiding certain foods helps) the reason for this is that nobody had an incentive to create such a study.
A refuah Sheleima to those in need!

From what our doc has told us remicade is coming out with an at home injection so you don’t need to go to the hospital for infusions. From what I understand remicade is stronger than humira but ask your doc. Give each medication at least 3 months to see the full benefits before switching

Later, I was told that remicade may eventually be less effective, at that point I would switch to humira. Spending a half day every 8 weeks or so at the doctor’s office or hospital is a minor nuisance (depending on your work schedule), but the results are good. If your doctor is not ready to recommend one or the other, see if there is another doctor who can advise you. I have a doctor who does not like to make decisions (is he afraid of being responsible for the outcome?) So I read all the information, make a preliminary judgment, and then check with a family member who is a gastroenterologist, and is willing to give advice. -
