STORMING THE HOUSE: Dozens of Republicans Storm Closed-Door House Impeachment Session

House Republicans led by Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., on Wednesday essentially stormed a closed-door session connected to the impeachment investigation of President Trump, prompting House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to suspend the proceedings in a remarkable scene.

The standoff happened Wednesday morning after lawmakers held a press conference in which they accused House Democrats of lack of transparency.

“We’re going to try and go in there, and we’re going to try to figure out what’s going on, on behalf of the millions of Americans that we represent that want to see this Congress working for them and not obsess with attacking a president who we believe has not done anything to deserve impeachment,” Gaetz said.

  1. How dare these Republicans storm a room where the secret planners are in session to decide what next measures to take as they destroy this great democracy!

  2. A deposition (taking of evidence) in private, without all parties present, and no opportunity for the accused to cross exam?????? That not only violates the Bill of Rights, but sounds awfully like the Star Chamber procedure that was banned in England, and which or Bill of Rights tried to ban from America. In all fairness, the Democrats and the left wing have been moving steadily in the direction of fascism for some time, and this is consistent. And the criminal justice system in general would run much more smoothly if they abolished the right of defendants to cross exam (as is done in many other countries, such as China and North Korea).
