The Parliament of the Czech Republic passed a new law on Tuesday banning all anti-Semitic and boycott efforts against Israel emanating from the country. The decision comes in light of the recent anti-Semitic attacks that have taken place across Europe. Recently, Germany passed a similar law in their parliament.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel Yisrael Katz welcomed the bill and took to Twitter saying: “I welcome the adoption of an important resolution, by the Czech Chamber of Deputies, condemning all forms of Antisemitism. I wish to thank our Czech friends for this step, which reflects the true friendship between our countries. I call on more Parliaments to follow suit.” he wrote.

Israeli Ambassador to the Czech Republic Daniel Meron also praised the decision on Twitter.

“Czech Chamber of Deputies just adopted a resolution strongly condemning all manifestations of Antisemitism, including against the State of Israel, and condemning any call for boycotting Israel. Thank you!” wrote Meron.
