A New York reformed rabbi has been charged for the fourth time with flashing a fake badge during a confrontation with another motorist.
State police say Rabbi Alfredo Borodowski surrendered Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of impersonating a police officer.
He allegedly pulled up behind a woman’s car on an exit ramp in Greenburgh in May. Police say he got out of his car, waved a badge, banged on her window and threatened to arrest her for driving too slowly and recklessly.
He then drove off.
He faces similar charges in Mamaroneck (muh-MEHR’-uh-nehk), White Plains and Yonkers. He has pleaded not guilty.
His lawyer says the incidents are the result of a bipolar disorder.
He’s due in court Aug. 2 on the latest charge.

Bipolar is a mood disorder. What does his mood have to do with this bizarre behavior?
Reformed judaism is a disorder too
While they are at it, they might as well arrest him for impersonating a Rabbi (and the whole lot of ’em too)!
No. 1: The answer to your question is, obviously, that the rabbi was in the mood to impersonate a police officer.
Just be glad he’s not in the mood to run for mayor of New York.
He’s not a ReformED Rabbi.
He is a Reform Rabbi.
What’s with the ED?
Is that another condition he suffers from?
The title of the article is misleading. He isn’t “Reformed” he graduated from a Conservative seminary.
What a chilul Hashem
Realist – many frum people (especially on here) write reformed, out of lack of knowledge. Reform is the correct term for this group which view itself as reformED Judaism.
Charlie – he graduated conservative but went over to the reform movement.
Hashem – save us!
Realist and RabbiYoni, one of the few things I learned in Reform school was why the movement calls itself Reform and not Reformed: it professes to be in constant reform. It takes this seriously; that’s why a Reform Jew has to check the movement site every day to see what s/he believes in at the moment.
It’s telling that you would post this story but NOT the legions of stories about the members of the haredi community who are arrested.
It would appear that the owners/moderators of this site are not concerned with hilchos lashon harah. Rather they are concerned with protecting their own and demonizing the other. Either that, or they feel they have the authority to determine who is and is not a Jew, without knowing anything of their family background.
Either way, it is shameful.
