NYC To Conduct Aerial Spraying In Parts Of Queens Against West Nile Virus Mosquito Virus


wnvTo reduce mosquito activity and the risk of West Nile virus, the Health Department will spray pesticide from trucks in parts of Queens on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting. In case of bad weather, application will be delayed until Thursday, July 25, 2013 during the same hours. The neighborhoods listed below are being treated due to rising West Nile virus activity with high and/or increasing mosquito populations.

Locations of Application:

Parts of Bayside, Douglaston, Douglas Manor, Glen Oaks, Little Neck and Oakland Gardens.

Bordered by Little Neck Bay and 39th Avenue to the North; Bell Boulevard, Long Island Expressway, Cloverdale Boulevard, 73rd Avenue and Springfield Boulevard to the West; 76th Avenue, 263rd Street and Union Turnpike to the South; and Nassau County border to the East.
