In many cases, the OP is not especially thought-provoking or provocative. Thus, it makes sense to respond to your own version of what the original poster should have said or in some cases, offer a totally irrelevant comment about the shidduch crisis, talking during davening, veggie chulent or some arcane chiddush to a thread about some meforshim intelligible to about 1 percent of CR readership.
