A robbery in Bnei Brak on Wednesday, resulted in the theft of NIS thousands from a known baal chessed in the city, one who is busy distributing food to the needy. The victim was surprised as he was approached and robbed of the bag which contained the money intended for the needy. The victim stated that the thief simply attacked him and then grabbed the bag and ran.

Police were notified of the mugging/robbery immediately, and officers and forensics arrived at the scene. Police were successful in apprehending the thief later in the day.

The money was returned to the owner while the thief, a 52-year-old Givat Shaul resident, was arraigned in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court.
