Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein ruled that only one caravan in the Shomron community of Amona must be moved in the ongoing land dispute with local Arabs, a land dispute championed by Israel’s extremist left-wing.
In his ruling over the weekend, Weinstein instructed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon to move one caravan home as well as tearing up the asphalt road leading to the community.
Officials in the Yesh Din organization, which is leading the battle to destroy Amona, believed that by Tisha B’Av there would be only ruins where the yishuv is located today. The community bought some of the land in controversy, compelling the court to freeze the planned eviction.
