Police are investigating an attack in Jerusalem which led to the arrest of two suspects in northern Israel. The vehicle they allegedly used to flee the scene was impounded by police.
Police last Sunday were called to the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem following an attack, during which a number of residents of eastern Jerusalem, Arabs, were attacked at a crosswalk by two persons who fled the scene in a vehicle. The two victims sustained bruises and required medical care.
Police were able to obtain information pertaining to the getaway vehicle, leading to the apprehension of the two suspects at Golani Junction in the north. The two suspects, ages 19 and 20, are residents of northern Jerusalem.
They were taken into custody and may face charges of a hate crime. The two were arraigned and their detention was extended until Friday, September 6, 2019, thereby permitting police to complete the investigation against them.
