Minister Yoav Galant, Political-Security Cabinet member and former IDF commander spoke about Hezbollah’s attack on Israel and the IDF’s response in an interview on Ynet on Monday morning. “We won’t reach a situation in which Hezbollah drags Lebanon into a war,” Galant said. “If Hezbollah proliferates, we’ll return Lebanon to the Stone Age.”
Despite his strong words, Galant conceded that “Hezbollah is capable of causing very heavy damage to Israel. We’re prepared for this.”
In response to the interviewer’s question about Israel’s red lines regarding Hezbollah’s aggression, Galant responded, “We’re very far away from some red line and the other side understands this. [Hezbollah] didn’t cease its strikes for no reason.”
“Israel clarified what it’s doing and the world also knows that Iran…is also terrorizing Syria and trying to harm Israel,” Galant continued. “We have to remember that everything we achieved regarding sanctions [againt Iran] stems from continuous Israeli effort. The one who led the campaign [against Iran] in the past decade is only one person – and we need to give him credit – Binaymain Netanyahu.”
The interviewer asked Galant if the conflict in the north can be compared to the struggle with Hamas in the south of Israel. “We know that a battle in the south will happen – the only question is a matter of timing. Is it the same situation in the north?”
“I suggest not to compare the two things in order not to reach the wrong conclusion,” Galant replied. “Hezbollah’s power compared to that of Hamas is a hundred to one. Hezbollah is a much more substantial entity, much stronger – and can cause very heavy damage. Consequently, we’re prepared for whatever it takes to harm it and we do not intend to reach a state of war. It’s true that Hamas is a very aggressive enemy but it is our weakest enemy. We also don’t want to resort to a battle [with Hamas] but it’s a completely different process.”

they all talk a lot, but the IDF does not allow pilots to bomb a building unless they know 100% for a fact that’s its empty, how will they bomb the place to the stone age then? bombing old empty buildings doesn’t scare anyone.
