Police have arrested a suspect in an arson fire in the shul in Petach Tikvah’s Beilinson Hospital.

Police say that on On Friday, August 30, 2019, police received a report of a fire in the shul. The preliminary findings of police, which were formulated in part after reviewing surveillance video footage, show the man arrived at the hospital seeking treatment. He entered the shul and immediately left, and the fire began there. The suspect was identified by police and arrested, arraigned in the Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate’s Court.

The paroches were set on fire and there was damage to the Aron Kodesh.

Thankfully, the Sifrei Torah were not ruined.

The suspect has been arraigned and he remains in detention.
