A kol korei from prominent Chabad rabbonim in Eretz Yisrael is bad news for the Otzma Yehudit and Noam parties, which counted on Chabad Chassidim on Election Day as the Chabadnikim often vote for the most right-wing party.
However, in light of election polls over recent weeks showing that Otzma Yehudit does not earn enough votes to enter Knesset, the rabbonim are calling on the respective tziburs to vote for a party that is expected to get into Knesset to avoid wasting votes. The Noam party is not even included in election polls, and according to pollsters, neither has a chance of getting into the 22nd Knesset.
Signatories of the letter warn against “losing even a single vote” as it remains imperative to elect another right-wing government, citing one must vote for a party that has a clear chazaka of passing the minimum threshold and entering Knesset. The rabbonim add it is prohibited to vote for a party willing to negotiate the giving away of portions of Eretz Yisrael.
