A bomb placed in the road near Elon Moreh in Shomron was discovered near the Shomron Battalion Command on Monday. B’chasdei Hashem, border police bomb sappers were summoned, and they succeeded in neutralizing the IED without injury.

The location of the IED was close to the Shomron Bypass Road, Route 555. Border police bomb sappers arrived at the scene and the bomb robot was deployed to safely examine the IED towards determining if it was real or fake. It was a real explosive device and it was neutralized without incident.

Authorities add the IED was connected to a fire extinguisher to increase the carnage from the blast.
