The story begins with the Likud party hiding surveillance cameras in Arab-sector polling stations with poll watchers in the last election for Knesset, seeking to prevent election fraud. They cameras were discovered, and the Central Election Committee ordered the cameras removed. The matter was discussed ahead of the upcoming election, and Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit has expressed opposition to the cameras, citing doing so may be a criminal offense.
Not wishing to be outdone, Yisrael Beitenu MK Oded Forer used twitter to express his concern, citing in the chareidi polling stations, “even the dead come to vote”, expressing the need for surveillance cameras in chareidi polling stations.
Forer plans to turn to the Central Election Committee with a request to place cameras in chareidi polling stations, as well as to call on additional volunteers to act as poll watchers to make certain there is no election fraud in chareidi neighborhoods in the election for 22nd election.
