A group of 15 hikers, all 13-year-old Gerrer Chassidim from Ashdod, lost their way in the Chariton Cave area in southern Gush Etzion near the community of Tekoa. Volunteers from the Gush Etzion search & rescue team were activated and they located the group, bringing them all to safety.
B’chasdei Hashem, the young inexperienced hikers were all ok, no one requiring medical attention.
The Chariton Cave is the second largest in Israel, which includes four primary levels and 55 rooms with separations measuring some 20 meters high, spreading out over 3,450 square meters.
