A closure was clamped on Yehuda and Shomron at midnight which will continue until Thursday night, following the conclusion of Memorial and Independence Days.
The closure, which was expected, is a measure towards preventing a terrorist attack over the holiday weekend. A closure was also enacted last week during Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Last week, IDF Chief of Intelligence Major-General Amos Yadlin warned terrorists are planning a major attack, citing a number of scenarios, including an attempt to crash the border between Gaza and southern Israel and stepped-up efforts to abduct a soldier(s).
The closure prevents Palestinian Authority residents from crossing the Green Line into pre-1967 Green Line Israel, but exceptions are made in cases of humanitarian need.
