The race for Rockland County Executive is heating up. Democratic candidate David Fried, who has been attacking the Orthodox Jewish community in his campaign for County Executive after courting and taking the community’ votes for a decade, added another insult to the list tonight: He had a $1,000 per person fundraiser by attorney Robert Fellows who represented the anti-Hasidic group Preserve Ramapo in its unsuccessful attempt to take over the Rockland Democratic Committee.
Fellows was the lawyer for anti-Orthodox legislator Joseph Meyers. The court threw out the Preserve Ramapo challenge and forced the group to repay $10,000 it spent from the Democratic Party’s treasury.
“Fried’s betrayal of New Square is shocking because he received the community’s vote 732 to 2 in his failed challenge to Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee,” a local activist told YWN.
Fried’s deep relationship with New Square goes back many years, where among others he attended with Hillary Clinton the August 8, 2000 meeting with Grand Rabbi David Twerski that was investigated by the US Attorney’s office.
Now, however, Mr. Fried is at fundraiser hosted by the attorney of Meyers; the very same Meyers who called for an FBI investigation of New Square following the Arson Attack two years ago.
Fried is facing Ilan Schoenberger, Suffern Mayor Dagan Lacorte and Vladimir Leon in the September 10th Democratic primary.

You also say that since an investigation into the attempted murder by arson in New Square was anti-Hasidic, AKA, anti-Semetic act. What happened to the rule of law? You obviously think it doesn’t apply to New Square. And lastly, about 50% of Preserve Ramapo’s members are Jews. You people do nothing but twist the truth and lie to your readers. Your intent is the keep them dis-informed, uneducated, and pregnant. I’m Jewish, but not in your CULT skewed eyes, and am ready for all the threats to come from the paranoid criminal thugs that will respond.
