Appeals Rejected: IDF College Will Be Construction On The Slopes Of Ein Kerem

The National Subcommittee of Appeals rejected the appeal submitted to the Jerusalem Commission regarding the establishment of a new campus; which will be comprised of eight different military training colleges, shared buildings including an auditorium, sports facilities, administrative buildings and residential facilities.

The subcommittee on Appeals of the District Planning & Building Council on Thursday rejected the appeals submitted regard the IDF Colleges complex for the slopes of Ein Kerem, MyNet reports.

Two appeals were filed regarding the Jerusalem District Planning & Building Committee decision. One appeal was filed in April 2019 by three members of the committee; Ofer Berkowitz, Avraham Shaked and Niv Wiesel. A second appeal was filed in July 2019 following a Jerusalem District Court.

The planned complex will span 39 dunam (9.75 acres) in the northern outskirts of the Kiryat Menachem neighborhood and near the Swedish Village. This is a state-owned pubic area that has the required zoning for the complex.

An open promenade will surround the new complex and connect to the Israel Trail. The promenade will also provide a marvelous view of Kfar Ein Kerem.
