Be’er Sheva: Child Scalded By Boiling Water in His Home

A pot of boiling water spilled on a young chareidi boy (age 10) in Be’er Sheva on Wednesday leaving the boy scalded and in moderate condition. The incident took place at the boy’s home in Be’er Sheva.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMTs as well as Magen David Adom ambulance crews responded to the incident and tested the boy for his burns. The boy was then transported by intensive care ambulance to Soroka hospital.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Ariel Fahima who was one of the first responders at the scene said: “The boy sustained serious burns as a result of the boiling water from the pot spilling on him. We treated him for his injuries at the scene following which, he was transported to Soroka hospital in moderate condition.”

Nachman Tubul, a spokesperson for United Hatzalah added: “Over the past few weeks we have seen a drastic rise in the number of children sustaining burns from accidents that are happening in the home. We strongly recommend that parents keep pay special attention to children whenever they go near the kitchen, especially if there are things cooking or hot pots on the stove. Do not leave children unattended in the kitchen at all, but especially not when food is cooking or baking.”

  1. Why is it necessary to add that the child is CHAREDI. If the child was from a not yet religious family would you write CHILONI?

  2. Dont you know @mead2660 chardi parents have too many kids and cant take care of them properly.

SAVE THE CHARDI CHILDREN FROM THOSE AWFUL CHAREDI PARENTS!

The boy should have a refuah shelemah.

  3. Nachman Tubul’s statement on behalf of United Hatzalah is one that would be offensive if it were not so ridiculous. He claims that such accidents can be avoided, and urges parents to “not leave children unattended in the kitchen at all, but especially not when food is cooking or baking”.
Did he not realize that this particular accident occurred to a ten-year old boy? At ten years old, I was a fifth-grader, and had already been cooking and baking independently for years.
Does anyone seriously think that ten years old is too young to be left alone in a kitchen?

  4. You should really put the words Sponsored Content next to these articles. Don’t see another logical reason why this (unfortunate) every day occurrence is newsworthy.
