Minister of Transportation (URWP) Betzalel Smotrich is opposed to the Otzma Yehudit party running in the upcoming election, as a Walla News poll just released shows the right-wing party receives only 2.2% of the vote, requiring 3.5% to enter Knesset. Smotrich explains that by running, once again, right-wing votes will be trashed instead of adding to the right-wing’s strength in Knesset.
“13 years the same campaign with the same results” Smotrich wrote to one of the leaders of Otzma Yehudit, Itamar Ben-Givir, who announced, “Only a vote for Otzma Yehudit will save the right-wing votes”.
In his tweeted message, Smotrich adds that in the 2003 election, 36,202 votes were trashed. In the 2006 election, 24,826 votes were trashed. In the 2013 election, 66,775 votes were trashed and in the 2015 election, 125,158 votes were trashed.
הפעם זה יעלה לנו בממשלת שמאל! https://t.co/zsI9qf6lIB pic.twitter.com/wONAu3pAsE
