House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says if President Donald Trump wants to belittle her Baltimore hometown as rat-infested, then he should consult son-in-law Jared Kushner, whom she calls a “slumlord.”
Kushner’s family real estate firm owns thousands of apartments and townhomes in the Baltimore area. Some have been criticized for the kind of disrepair and neglect that Trump has accused local leaders of failing to address.
Pelosi says Baltimore is a great source of pride, as is Rep. Elijah Cummings, whose district includes parts of the city.
Trump has disparaged the majority-black district represented by the Democrat, who’s leading multiple investigations of the president’s governmental dealings.
Pelosi’s father and brother were Baltimore mayors. Her advice to Trump: Talk to White House adviser Kushner, “who’s a slumlord there, if he wants to talk about rodents.”

He owns a large number of rental units which have code violations but by “Baltimore standards”, its not clear his family holdings are worse than any of the other large real estate companies. While some will say that low-income tenants cause the large percentage of the problems and deliberately damage rental units, that is patently false.
So now it’s okay for Cummings to be a racist and incompetent

Aside from contradicting herself (if there is a “slumlord” there must “slums”, and her description of slums as “wonderful” should lead on to seriously wonder about her).
But the hypocrisy is quite insufferable. Obama’s special friend and confidant, advisor and mentor, was Valerie Jarrett who had been CEO of Habitat Company, described as a real estate development and management company. A better description is slumlord, and way bigger than Kushner is even alleged to be.
Valerie Jarrett also ran Chicago Hospital. Seems one Michelle Obama worked there. And the story goes (actually, the tax returns they released shows) Michelle Obama’s salary was tripled from $100,000-plus (year 2004) to $300,000-plus (year 2005, which includes a signing bonus.). And just what financing did Obama introduce in the Senate with regards to that very same Hospital – look it up.
Also interesting to note the timing. While Obama had been until then a State Senator, he became a Federal Senator in the year – 2005.
