Do you think it’s offensive to say “passed away” instead of “died?” Or, “took his own life” instead of “killed himself?”
If those are euphemisms, I think they fall into a different category than ones such as “affirmative action” or “undocumented immigrant”. Your examples use polite language, the latter distort the underlying meanings.
How about describing a bank robber as an “aspiring account holder”?
