He was part of a group heading to the kever of Aaron HaKohen for his yahrzeit, Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av. Ichud Hatzalah worked with local EMS responders and they were successful in resuscitating the man, who was taken to a local hospital. He is listed in serious condition.
EMT Yossi Refaeli, who accompanied the group, witnessed the man’s collapse and immediately began resuscitation efforts. The group left on Sunday night and spent the night in a Jordanian hotel. It was there that the man lost consciousness.
Foreign Ministry officials on Monday morning became involved in efforts to transfer the man to an Israeli hospital. Zaka reports that it has been working with Magen David Adom and when the patient’s condition stabilizes, he will be transported to Israel.
