John McCain to Visit Lakewood

YW-McCain-Kosel-2.jpgMr. John McCain, the Republican Nominee for the white-house will be visiting Lakewood for a finance luncheon at noon on Thursday, May 8th. Tickets for the luncheon are $1,000 per person.

YWN has learned that the event is being hosted by Mr. Larry Bathgate, a prominent lawyer, multimillionaire, former finance chairman for the Republican National Committee, and was selected as one of the 100 most influential lawyers in America by the National Law Journal.

Having hosted many New Jersey fundraisers in the past, Mr. Bathgate is well known in political circles, is close friends with President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and a slew of other Republican elected officials.

This campaign stop is a “given” on a republican campaign tour, and was traditionally held at the Chateau Grand Hall, (and other NJ locations). Being that the Chateau has since closed, the Lake Terrace Hall in Lakewood is the nearest Hall which can accommodate a large crowd comfortably, and was chosen for the event.

YWN has confirmed that Mr. McCain will not be visiting BMG or the Jewish Community of Lakewood.

  1. I WISH I HAD THE MONEY TO ATTEND but any yid that does should go out and support him for president . he is much better than mrs. clinton or barak hussian abama!

  2. I think that we are ready for a black female president. I’m voting for Laura Bush (ok so she’s not black, stop being such a racist). George senior would be a great VP, he was Reagan’s. What we really need is Reagan to stand in front of the Iranian nuclear reactor and scream in front of the whole world ‘Mr Putin, tear down this reactor’!

  3. #3 – your mention of Reagan brings to mind a good story, told over by Bush Sr during his “hesped” for Reagan – Bush was visiting Reagan in the hospital when Reagan was president, and came into the room and saw Reagan with a towel drying a wet floor – Bush said, “What are you doing on the floor,” and Reagan said he had spilled some water, and wanted to clean it up before the head nurse came in, because if the head nurse saw it, she would criticize the regular nurse for not having cleaned it (even though that other nurse could not have even known that there was a spill)

that’s being a mentsch – president of the US and caring about a nurse

  4. To # 4 Great story, beautifully describes Reagen’s character, and hope McCain will follow in those footsteps. We need a real ‘mentch’ as President, that is what makes a good leader.

  5. Lakewood is the place for politicians, first Clinton and now McCain, when is Obama arriving? Bet he will want to set up an appt to BMG

  6. Obama would actually do very well with the Lakewood community. Unfortunately, it is the black community that I am referring to (no not the black hats).

  7. For some reason I have the feeling that contributing to McCain is like contributing to La Raza R”L. Better give that money to your local Yeshiva or something of that nature, or if you feel compelled to contribute politically, contribute to conservative organizations as opposed to RINO candidates.
