Ethiopian Shul Recevies Anonymous Threats

A shul serving the Ethiopian community in Ashkelon received a threatening letter warning them against carrying out any harm against a police officer or his family. The letter said that the sender or senders would revenge any action taken “without mercy” against the community.

Due to the contents of the letter, the police have opened an investigation into who the person or people were who sent it.

The letter said: “If you or any members of your community harm, in any way, a police officer or their family, we, the family and friends of the police officer will take revenge on you without any mercy.”

The letter was deposited by the shul, located at the intersection of Shapira and Yosef Tal just before Shabbos.

Racial slurs and degrading comments against the Ethiopian community were also written on the letter itself.
