As is his practice, the head of the Zehut party, Moshe Feiglin, who fails to meet the minimum electoral threshold in all polls, blames his failed efforts to unite with the New Right party on Ayelet Shaked, the party’s chairman.
Feiglin’s party failed to enter the 21st Knesset, and it is clear to all, except to him perhaps, that if the party runs alone again, he will once again find himself out of Knesset.
He was working to team up with Naftali Bennet, the prior chairman of the New Right, but Bennet has since taken the second slot, aware of the fact that with Shaked at the helm, the party will earn additional votes due to her impressive electoral popularity.
As for Feiglin, it remains to be seen if he will find a party to unite with ahead of next week’s deadline when parties must submit their lists for the election for 22nd Knesset.
