The Moetzas Chachmei HaTorah of the Shas party on Wednesday gave its stamp of approval to the party’s lineup for the upcoming election for 22nd Knesset. The election is set for Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
The eight MKs of the party will remain in the current order. Rabbi Moshe Abutbul, the former mayor of Beit Shemesh, holds the ninth slot. Recent polls show Shas will lose a seat in the election, from eight to seven.
The rabbonim of the council has authorized party leader, Minister Aryeh Deri, to arrange the second ten slots of the lineup as he sees fit for the party’s benefit.
