Fed Up Passengers Block Egged Buses on Motzei Shabbos

egednnPassenger waiting in Haifa’s Seret Vishnitz area for a number 972 bus to Yerushalayim on motzei Shabbos report they waiting about 40 minutes. Following the delays they were on their way but others, who were prohibited from boarding because the bus was full, blocked buses.

The bus began in the N’vei Sha’anan neighborhood and when it arrived in the Seret Vishnitz area many riders were told they may not board the bus because it was full. They decided they had enough of the motzei Shabbos ritual and delayed the bus for about 40 minutes, blocking the road to prevent its departure. They then blocked a bus heading to Bnei Brak. Needless to say the passengers on board were less than pleased, some questioning why they were being punished by the frustrated commuters.

Many riders explain it was a spontaneous act of frustration as this situation repeats itself every motzei Shabbos and Egged does appear to make the slightest effort to take action to avoid a replay week after week.
