Peleg Yerushalmi announces it will renew protests in Jerusalem today, July 24, 2019, at 2:00PM. The protest is to begin at Kikar Shabbos. One should however be prepared for possible disruptions in bus and light rail service in the area of the central bus service as well.
It is reported that the reason for the protest today is the arrest of a chareidi talmid, Eliezer Rubin, at Ben-Gurion Airport as he was heading to Uman to be mispallel at the tziyun of Rav Nachman ZT”L ZY”A.
Rubin is classified as a draft dodger because he did not report to a draft office to be categorized as a ‘ben torah’ and thereby receive a draft deferment, as is the policy of followers of Peleg. He is a talmid of an Eida Chareidis affiliated yeshiva.
A military court on Tuesday postponed his hearing until Sunday.

What did he expect? Did he really think he’ll get through the Ben Gurion security?
Who are Peleg Yerushalmi and what do they want?
“Eliezer Rubin, at Ben-Gurion Airport as he was heading to Uman to be mispallel at the tziyun of Rav Nachman ZT”L ZY”A.” Are there no k’varim of tzaddikim in Eretz Yisroel where this Rubin can daven? He davka must go to the Ukraine?
If there was even a shred of לשם שמים in this protest, it would be conducted in a manner that doesn’t cause damage to the public. For that reason alone, I have zero rachmonus on any of these מבטלי תורה. No, I am not hoping they get beaten up. But if they act violently and get some petch, I do not feel badly for them.
I would like that all those arrested in these disgusting protests have their names published in the media. For one, I will insist to my family that none of these ever be considered for a shidduch with my daughters.
Eliezer Rubin is neither a ben Torah or a soldier.
nor he should be going to Ulman whenhe should be in Yeshiva instead
Comment:דינא דמלכתא דינא
lock him and the protesters up
Where do these guys get the money to travel to Uman? Is this what they come to collect for?
I agree with chaviv99. They should have their protests in a closed room, just like the Ethiopians.
