Attorney General Dr. Avichai Mandelblit has decided to ignore the recommendation from the State Comptroller to launch a criminal investigation against MK Moshe Gafne, the chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee. The comptroller feels Gafne may have interfered in an investigation against a known rav.

According to the report by Mordechai Gilat of KAN11 News on Sunday evening, the case has been closed despite the recommendations of State Comptroller Yosef Shapira, which was released last April.

According to the report, officials in the State Comptrollers Office called the attorney general’s decision “an outrage”, adding they were not given any explanation regarding the decision to close the case. Officials in the office explain there is clear evidence to substantiate the allegations against Gafne, including emails.
