Border police working with Israel Police on Sunday evening arrested a suspect who was trying to steal a half ton of chickpeas from the fields of Nachal Ohz in southern Israel.
Police received a call for a suspicious vehicle that fled the Nachal Ohz area and the search for the vehicle began. The vehicle was found abandoned and filled with a large quantity of chickpeas, believed to have been stolen from the fields in Nachal Ohz.
Police found the suspect in the nearby Bedouin encampment, a male in his 30s. he was arrested, and the vehicle impounded.
