Israeli Juniors Win European Basketball Title For the Second Year In A Row


The Under-20 Israeli Basketball team has won the European championship for the second year in a row. The achievement makes Israel only the second ever country to win back-to-back championships in the under-20 division of men’s basketball in Europe. (The first being Serbia).

The Israeli team beat the Spanish team in Heichal Shlomo Arena by a score of 92 to 84 to make them the champions once again.

Danny Avdiya continued to lead the Israeli national team by scoring 23 points against the Spaniards. Yam Madar scored 17 points and had another 8 assists. Tomer Porat came in third on Israel’s scoring charts netting 11 points and he was followed closely by Raz Adam who scored 10.
