A burglar who broke into a shop in the center of Jerusalem was apprehended red handed with thousands of shekels worth of cigarettes that he stole from the store.
During routine police operation over the weekend, an alert resident reported that he saw something suspicious, possibly a break-in, in a shop nearby. A man he exclaimed fled the store with a large bag in his hand.
Police probed the situation and quickly determined there had been a break-in. They shifted their efforts to locating the suspected thief, the man who fled with the large bag in his hand. He was apprehended with 113 packs of cigarettes, which are worth NIS thousands.
The 33-year-old Arab resident of the eastern capital was taken into custody. His custody was extended at his arraignment hearing.
