Word from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital indicates the surgical procedure on Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita is more complicated than first expected. The 93-year-old Gadol Hador is under general anesthesia as surgeons work to address a fracture in the rav’s back.

Family members of the rav are calling on the tzibur to continue being mispallel on his behalf.

Tefilos are being recited in the Ohr HaRashbi Yeshiva at the tziyun of the Rashbi in Meron along with Jerusalem’s Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva. The rosh yeshiva, HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Shapira is close to Rav Ovadia and organized a tefilla event for his refuah. There are also tefilos taking place at the tziyun of the Rambam and the Shelah HaKodosh in Tiveria.
