Motorists are advised that Monday, July 8, a westbound lane closure is planned on Route 17 between Exit 125 (Route 17M East – South Street) in the Town of Goshen, and Exit 126 (Route 94) in the Village of Chester, in order to relocate a crane. One westbound lane is expected to be closed with a traffic slowdown between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Drivers should anticipate delays and seek alternate routes where possible. If you must travel through the work zone area, use caution and pay attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
