SHOCK: Holocaust Denial By Boca Raton Principal

If you think that holocaust denial is only found in Nazi websites and the like – think again.

According to email records obtained by the Palm Beach Post, a high school principal in Boca Raton, Florida, told a parent, “not everyone believes the Holocaust happened.”

The email emanated from Spanish River Community High School principal William Latson.  It was sent in response to an inquiry from a parent about how the school will be teaching the Holocaust.

Latson replied, “The curriculum is to be introduced but not forced upon individuals as we all have the same rights but not all the same beliefs.”

The mother was somewhat stunned. She sent a follow-up email to see if Latson really meant what he had just emailed.

What he responded with was even more shocking.

“Not everyone believes the Holocaust happened,” he wrote. “And you have your thoughts but we are a public school and not all of our parents have the same beliefs so they will react differently.”

In 1994, the Florida legislature had passed a law requiring school districts to incorporate Holocaust education as part of public school instruction. The state’s educational statutes require that topics like these be taught “using the books and materials required that meet the highest standards for professionalism and historical accuracy.”

  1. if you’re wondering how someone can make a fact into a maybe or outright denial we only have to look at the many beliefs in the world today.
Its a maybe Hashem made the world so evolution is what they espouse.
Its a maybe that a man and woman make a marriage and a family unit so they push their sickening agenda and even take “pride” in it.
It’s a maybe if a fetus has life so you give the woman the right to choose to kill. L”a
    The list just continues.

  2. Under the Trumpkopf’s administration, everyone is entitled to their own facts and opinions. You may recall that in his first year in offie, and unlike any prior Administration, Trump’s statement marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day did not mention the deaths of six million Jews —just a lapse followed by his equally perplexing comments about “good people on both sides” with respect to the Nazis marching in Charlottesvile Virgina and multiple “retweeting” of blatantly racist posts from known anti-semites and whie supremacists. But again, not to worry, eveyone is entitled to their own opinion

  3. YWN stop with the “shock”. Really detracts from the info you are trying to communicate. Very little is really shocking. Cut out the click bait.

  4. Imagine the firestorm had this been a white principal indicating to a parent that not everyone believes that slavery actually existed. CNN and the rest of you media people – your hypocrisy is so blatant. The Eisav sonei l’Yaakov is be Heavenly design. Nothing else could explain how intelligent people fall for this nonsense.

  5. Let himpresent both sides. The sides backed by most nations including germany and mus eums and tons of nazi film and tons of witnesses including those still alive!!! Versus the view millions of eldeely jews are lying in a conspiracy with global powers to colonise palestine and then the world!

  6. Even while it was happening during the war-so many jews refused to believe the rumors were really true . it was so beyond human experience. And after reading so many detailed books and speaking with holocaust survivors in my family- of course i know it happened bit it is truly so beyond the realm of anything else in the history of man that i can imagine an ignorant person such as this principal wondering how could such a thing really happen. But especially as a school principal he has to be quickly introduced to the gruesome reality of what really happened. Unless he is an Antisemite (which of course could be the fact) he will change his tune. Even in small numbers it is hard to feel and believe.
But the number 6000000 is. Impossible to absorb in our human consciousness……ה’ ישמור עלינו

  7. The racists comments on this site is appaling. YWN moderators exhibit a total lack of judgement by approving comments targeting “blacks” and comments mimicing African American accents. This was one principal who happens to be black. Many rightfully go beserk when comments posted on APP and other places attack Jews as a whole and as a race yet here on YWN the exact same revolting thing is approved against African Americans.

  8. Curiosity…..if you are true to your namesake, check out the multiple Trump retweets from known racist and white supremacist sites that invoke the most vile anti-Semitic tropes along with anti-muslim, anti-black and other racist themes. No, I don’t think the Trumpkopf per se is an anti-Semite but he is an enabler of anti-Semitism by seeking to retain the support of the far right/alt right groups that were attracted to him back in 2016. When your public support/favorability poll number is stuck in the mid-40 percent range, you can’t afford to alienate the racist whites who hate BOTH blacks and Jews. Are there anti-Semitic Blacks?? of course but the white anti-Semitic groups are a much greater threat.

  9. Curiosity, that’s not too nice to say about Gadolhadora. A sincere Refuah Shleimah and Tehillim would be appropriate for her. Let’s never forget which party is the supporter of Torah values, Israel, and actually believing the Holocaust existed. Unlike Omar, AOC, ‘Apartheid Israel’ Jimmy Carter, Bernie Saunders, also with the understanding of which political party Principal William Latson is registered with in the State of Florida.

  10. Not everyone believes that black people were slaves in the U.S. It’s possible that they’re descendents of wealthy, privileged African plantation owners. And you have your thoughts but it’s a public school and not all the parents have the same beliefs so they will react differently.

  11. Well, as reprted elsewhere on this site, according to Orcasio Cortez (spelling ok?) you cannot criticise anyone who is of dark skin color.

  12. ‘Everyone has different beliefs.’ That is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard and I’m shocked that he can say something so dumb.
I don’t believe the Vietnam war happened. I don’t believe 9/11 happened. Who said there were ever towers there in the first place? I don’t believe there was ever a president named george Washington or Abe Lincoln. It’s all made up.

  13. one has to be dumb like Gadolhadorah in order to believe in debunked Charlottesvile hoax and accuse Trump of Holocaust denial. I noticed a pattern with her: any negative story about Democrats or about a member of “politically” approved victims group she has to pin it on Trump.

  14. “Not everyone believes the Holocaust happened,”

Change the word Holocaust to “theory of evolution”. will he change the curricullum?

  15. According to a July 10 article in The Palm Beach Post, Latson is losing his job:

Palm Beach County Schools Superintendent Donald Fennoy said Wednesday he planned to fire Spanish River High School’s ousted principal, bowing to pressure from lawmakers and an anti-hate group over the educator’s comments about the Holocaust.

“I have lost confidence in his leadership,” Fennoy said of Principal William Latson in a video message Wednesday. “I removed him from his position as principal and now I am making a recommendation to the school board to not renew his contract.”
