Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday, appointed coalition chairman, MK (Likud) David Amsellem as Minister of Communications.
After Ayoub Kara left the post, Justice Ministry officials informed the Prime Minister that he must immediately appoint a new Minister of Communications.
After receiving the appointment, Amsellem said, “I am happy to have the great privilege to serve Am Yisrael as the Minister of Communications. I thank Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for his trust. בערת ה’, נעשה ונצליח”.
In his letter of resignation, Kara wrote, “Since I was appointed as Minister of Communications, the campaign of tendentious slander against me stemming from prejudice began, and ever success unfortunately became a failure, including prejudiced criticism from within and from outside”.
“In order to stop this hunt, and to continue to serve the State of Israel, I am not retiring from my public life, but I am embarking on a battle to purge my name”.
