Sderot City Hall, in cooperation with the Centre opposite 7 Sderot, on Sunday, July 7, 2019, will be hosting the Balloonade Festival for the children of Sderot and the surrounding communities, beginning at 5:30PM.
During the activity the visitors will meet figures made from balloons, watch an expert balloon artist, undergo folding workshops and decorate balloons, build a decorated balloon wall and enjoy a spectacular show of balloons. Admission is free.
“When we heard that children in the area are afraid of balloons, we knew that we had to mobilize immediately in order to arouse a positive feeling towards them,” said the head of the Sderot center, Assi-Bergal Uzan.
“I would like to thank the Sderot Municipality for the fact that for two years in a row it has been committed to establishing a unique event with us, and for proving that the children are at the top of their priorities”, added marketing director Nofit Cohen.
Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi: “The terrorists on the other side of the fence use an object that is fun and joy for children for other purposes – the sowing of destruction, the attempt to harm and sabotage our great work in Sderot and the Gaza vicinity. We are here to continue to develop, to give a good and optimistic future for our children and remind them of the balloons’ original goal.
