NY1: Police have ticketed the driver and the owner of the school bus 5-year-old Chana Friedlander was running toward when she was struck and killed by a car? Tuesday in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.?

Police say instead of waiting for her bus, Friedlander ran toward it while it was picking up another student on Marcy Avenue. That’s when she was hit by a blue BMW.

The bus driver says his warning lights were on and police are still trying to verify that. In the meantime, the driver was issued multiple summonses for various equipment violations, and for not having a proper license.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the BMW, 27-year-old Trisha Thomas, who works as a speech therapist at a local public school.
