A document was presented to the Knesset Finance Committee attesting to the fact that the price of fruits and vegetables increased tens of percent from 2005 to 2013, primarily due to the marketing gaps. Fruit prices increased 26.9% during that period and vegetables prices increased by 14.6%.
Minister of Agriculture Yair Shamir and senior officials in his office told the committee they are working on a plan aimed at lowering those prices in the coming year.
