Boro Park: Greenfield Offers Reward for Information About Hateful Graffiti on Community Board Building

nypdn1Councilman David G. Greenfield is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the hateful graffiti found painted on the front door of Community Board 12’s district office in Boro Park this morning.

According to the NYPD, the offensive graffiti was painted on the outside of the board’s office on 13th Avenue sometime between when it closed on Friday and when an employee discovered it while opening on Monday morning. The NYPD is now investigating this apparent hate crime including reviewing local surveillance footage for any evidence. To help motivate any witnesses to come forward, Councilman Greenfield is offering $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this disgusting and hurtful incident. Community Board 12 serves a predominantly Jewish area and both the Chairman and District Manager are Orthodox Jews.

“Once again our community finds itself targeted by a cowardly individual who thinks nothing of spreading vile, hateful rhetoric against the Jewish community. My thanks to the 66th Precinct and the entire NYPD for its swift and serious response to this latest incident of hate in Brooklyn. I am confident that the person responsible for this shocking assault on our community will be apprehended and held responsible for their disgusting actions. I hope that this reward motivates anyone with information to come forward and help bring this person to justice as soon as possible,” said Councilman Greenfield.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact the NYPD at 1-800-577-TIPS.
