Avreich R’ Avrohom Shmuel Kibowitz z”l headed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim after suffering a serious asthma attack late Sunday night. He summoned a taxi to take him to the hospital. Not wishing to leave his 10-year-old child alone, he and his wife brought her along with them. He collapsed shortly after his arrival in Hadassah.
R’ Avrohom was 40, a Pinsk-Karlin chossid, a bal korei and well-known melamed in the community. The levaya began at Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim at noon and the kvura was in Har HaZeisim. יהי זכרו ברוך

Though I can’t judge the specifics of this case and whether it was avoidable, it should be noted that Intensive Care Ambulances (and Paramedics) generally carry medicines that will allow the immediate alleviation of such attacks.
