An Israel Police marine unit rescued two adults and four children who left port for a leisurely time on the Kinneret in a rubber raft but were pulled out by the current and strong wings. The family was unable to return to shore, as they were about 1km (6/10 mile) from shore.
Police were able to find the raft quickly and the adults and the children, ranging in ages from 2-7, were all fine.
The incident occurred on Monday evening. The police emergency call center received the call reporting the raft was taken out by the current and strong westerly winds.
After the police boat was dispatched, the crew found the raft within a matter of minutes and the family was brought back to shore safely.
