Jerusalem police are completing preparations for the upcoming Shavuos weekend including “Leil Shavuos” at the Kosel on motzei Shabbos.

During the Shabbos/Yomtov weekend, a large force of police, border police and other forces will be deployed to maintain order in the city, with an emphasis on the Old City, the streets leading to it, shuls hotels, and recreational and nature sites.

On motzei Yomtov, there will be traffic changes. Bar Ilan Street will be closed from Shamgar to Sanhedria Junction, Chativat Harel – Eretz Chefetz to Sanhedria Junction, Shefa Chaim and Golda Meir Blvd. These areas will be opened exclusively to public transportation to alleviate traffic for the vehicles transporting the many guests who spend yomtov in Jerusalem. Travelers using public buses are advised to check the websites of Egged and the other companies or to phone their information numbers for accurate reports of routes and times.
